How to clear App Data or Cache on Android devices in bulk?
App data on Android devices refers to both cached data and other important data including login details and preference settings of the application. This cached data is used by the application to reduce the time taken by the app to load. However, storing app data in bulk on your device can take a toll on your device’s storage, and hence reduce its functionality. Clearing app data releases a lot of free space and helps declutter the device. Hexnode UEM provides you with the ability to remotely clear app data on your Android devices. This feature comes quite handy when you are trying to remotely troubleshoot device(s).
Clear app data on Android devices
To clear app data of an application(s) on a single device:
- Login to the Hexnode portal and navigate to Manage > Devices.
- Click on the device of which app data is to be cleared.
- Go to Actions > Clear App Data.
- Select the required application(s) and click on Next.
- Specify the number of selected applications and click on Clear Data.
To clear app data of applications on multiple devices:
- Login to the Hexnode portal and navigate to Manage > Devices.
- Select the devices on which app data needs to be cleared by checking the box adjacent to them.
- Go to Actions > Clear App Data.
- Select the required application(s) and click on Next.
- Specify the number of selected applications and click on Clear Data.
What happens at the device end?
App data of all the selected applications are cleared, and on the next use they open up as newly installed applications.
